Wisdom High organizes design and technology day for students

NASHIK: The commerce stream junior college students of Wisdom High International School (WHIS) were assigned the task of designing a product with a logo for marketing purposes. Students were also told to create a television advertisement and a radion jingle. Students were judged on the basis of their product design and marketing strategies.

An overall winner considering all the above criteria was also declared. The competition was judged by the trustee - Ritu Agarwal. The school organized a bridge-making competition for class XII. The competition was organized to develop designing skills. Students had to develop a model using ice cream sticks.

The parameters for testing the model were - basic design, weight, length and its weight-bearing capacity. Students came up with designs that displayed their innovative, creative and technical skills. Design and Technology Day was organized for students to think out of the box and to hone their logical thinking. Based on this concept, an egg dropping competition was conducted for the 10th grade students recently. Students had to design a vehicle to drop a fragile object from a certain height.

Various parameters were given to them like the egg had to be raw, use of parachutes were prohibited, the vehicle had to have a specific structure, minimum number of parts had to be used to design the vehicle, weight of the vehicle had to be minimal, flight time of the model and the landing zone were the major criteria on which the winners were declared. The students were awarded The Humpty Dumpty Splat award, that is, the best splat for the day, the most aesthetic and creative design etc.

Fravashi student excels in Spelling Bee: In the Maharashtra State Spelling Bee Competition held at Poddar International School recently, Paarth Panchmatia, a class I student of Fravashi Academy secured the second position. He received a trophy.

Campus interview at MVP's Pharmacy College: A campus interview for a reputed pharmaceutical company, McLeods Pharmaceuticals, Mumbai was organized at Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj's College of Pharmacy, recently. The interview was conducted by the company's vice president, Saidatt Nanda. Fifteen undergraduate and postgraduate students from the college have been recruited through this interview.

Parents' Day function:

The Nashik Police Public School celebrated its Annual Day recently. Students displayed their talent through various programmes. Parents appreciated all the performances by the students.

Students win merits: A Spelling Bee Competition was organized at Gems English Medium School for students of Sr kg to class IV to enhance their writing skills in English. Students of each class were given a set of words from all subjects in the form of a booklet. The competition was conducted for each class separately. The winners for each class were awarded merit certificates by school principal - Nandita Ganguly.

GVIS students succeed in competitive exams: The students of Global Vision International School (GVIS) scored well at the Science Olympiad Foundation, Asia's biggest Olympiad foundation that was organized by NSO (National Science Olympiad), IMO (International Mathematical Olympiad) and IEO (International English Olympiad). This academic year in NSO Exam students of class II CBSE, Rohit Joshi stood first (gold), Vrunda Gholap stood second (silver) and Snehanshu Kars stood third (bronze) in the school.

New Era shines in shloka competition: Shree Ganga Godavari Panchkroshi Purohit Sangh, Nashik organized competitions for the recitation of shlokas in which New Era students excelled. Students showed their recitation powers and clear pronunciation while chanting the shlokas. Sai Patil stood first, Varad Pande second and Chinmay Garud stood third in Shree Ganpati Atharvashirsha. Sai Patil stood second and Varad Pande third in Ramraksha shloka. Shruti Kulkarni stood first in Maruti shloka and Vaishnavi Dixit stood first in Shreesukta.
