A conference on technological innovation in ecological agriculture was recently held in Handan city, Hebei province, and saw a number of experts praising an in-house farming model.
The model, which was developed by the Hebei Aobo Glass Group Company, focuses on nurturing plants through utilizing LED glass capable of light conversion.
Zhou Changyi, an energy conservation official with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, thinks highly of the progressive and environmentally-friendly model, which develops upon glass deep processing technology, noting that it resolves food safety issues.
The vegetables, which are grown under bulb lighting and light converted via LED glass are free from both fertilizers and pesticides, said Zhou. He also reassured consumers that they would feel safe and comfortable eating such vegetables.
The LED Light-Conversion Technology Application and Demonstration project, which the Hebei Aobo Glass Group Company spent years researching and developing, obtained assistance from the International Energy Conservation Environmental Protection Association earlier this year. |
