A light tap on the screen or a "deep" press might make a big difference on the next iPhone.
One of the most interesting features of Apple's new MacBook is its Force Touch touchpad, which can differentiate between normal and strong presses of the finger. And now, according toa new report quoting people familiar with the matter, the technology might be coming to Apple's next iPhone.

The jury on the Force Touch is definitely still out, as the new MacBook hasn't reached consumers yet. However, it might be interesting to see the technology on an iPhone, as it would add an entirely new dimension to the way we interact with the device.
As for other details about the new iPhones — we'll see two new models again, according to theWall Street Journal — Apple won't change the display sizes, while the resolution will stay "similar."
However, a new color for the iPhone's casing might join the existing lineup: pink. If the WSJ's report is accurate, that would be a pretty radical change from the device's current color lineup, which includes silver, gold and space gray.
New iPhones are still a long way off, though. Apple is reportedly planning to ramp up mass production for the devices in May. Given that the company's latest quarter was its most successful ever, we wouldn't be surprised if Apple chose to abstain from making major changes to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
